Dress Code

Dress Code for Eugene Gregory Memorial Youth Academy and Consequence Alternative Sanctions Unit

  1. Pants: Long pants are required. Stretch and sweat pants, spandex pants, pants with holes, capris, see through fabric, or tight material will not be permitted (must be able to pinch one inch of fabric). Under garment must not be showing. Hip huggers/low riders and leather/pleather pants are not permitted. If short pants are worn, student will be directed to wear long pants and placed in I.S.S. with a jumpsuit.
  2. Belts: A belt must be worn with long pants and must be pulled up to the waist at all times. Sagging pants are absolutely not permitted!
  3. Shirts: Any color tee shirts with no pictures or any type of writing will be worn. Shirts must be long enough to tuck into your pants. Clothing that is revealing is prohibited (spaghetti straps, tube tops, and tank tops).
  4. Socks/Shoes: Sneakers and clean socks must be worn at all times.
  5. Undergarments: All students are required to wear undergarments (underwear, bras) beneath their clothing. Undergarments must not be visible. "Baller" shorts are prohibited as undergarments.
  6. Sweaters/Sweatshirts: Plain sweatshirts may be worn during class, when temperature is too cold and during the winter months. No Pictures or any type of writing will be permitted. Hoods must be tucked in.
  7. Jackets: A plain outer jacket maybe permitted during travel to and from school. Upon entry on school property, the jacket must be removed and stored in a designated area. Trench coats are not permitted.
  8. Jewelry: No jewelry of any kind allowed.
  9. Hair: Hair must be professionally tailored/neatly groomed (not distracting). No unnatural colors, glitter, beads, hair jewelry, Mohawk, spiked or shaved designs. If braids are worn, they must be kept neat (freshly braided) and clean.
  10. Make-Up: No makeup is to be brought to school. Must be natural (professional), no glitter or sticker.
  11. Other Apparel: Hats, sunglasses, bandanas, wallets, book bags, beepers, cellular phones, CD players and other electronic devices are prohibited. SCPS/YSPEC staff reserves the right to seize any article that is deemed inappropriate or distractible. Parent/Guardian will be notified to pick up items.
  12. Eyebrows: Eyebrows must not have any designs, cuts or slashes while attending.
